About Harbor Transit

Harbor Transit has been serving the public transportation needs of area residents for over 40 years. It was reorganized into the Harbor Transit Multi-Modal Transportation System in 2012 which coincided with the expansion into Grand Haven Charter Township.

The total service area now covers 55 square miles and includes the cities of Grand Haven and Ferrysburg, the village of Spring Lake, Grand Haven and Spring Lake Township.

The system employs 65 full and part-time employees and operates a fleet of 23 buses and two vans along with two seasonal trolleys. The fleet is powered by an equal number of gasoline and LP powered vehicles. In a normal month, buses will travel over 58,000 miles and will consume approximately $15,000 in fuel.
