About Harbor Transit

Harbor Transit has been serving the public transportation needs of the Tri-Cities for over 40 years. It was reorganized into the Harbor Transit Multi-Modal Transportation System in 2012 which coincided with the expansion of the service into Grand Haven Charter Township.

The total service area covers 55 square miles and includes the cities of Grand Haven and Ferrysburg, the village of Spring Lake, Grand Haven Township and NOW all of Spring Lake Township..

The system employs 55 full and part-time employees and operates a fleet of 22 buses and two vans along with two seasonal trolleys. The fleet is powered by an equal number of both diesel and gasoline motor vehicles along with four L. P. powered buses. In a normal month, buses will travel over 50,000 miles and will consume approximately $20,000 in fuel.
