First Time Rider Information

Harbor Transit provides curb to curb bus transportation service to thousands of riders in the Cities of Grand Haven and Ferrysburg, the Village of Spring Lake, and both Grand Haven Charter and Spring Lake Townships. Here is how you access the service whenever you need it.

To help ensure the service you expect from us we ask that you keep the following in mind:

  • For any scheduled appointment you might have such as to the doctor’s office, hair salon, or getting to work please call us 24-hours in advance to make sure we get you on the ride list.

  • By calling us at least 1 hour in advance of your desired pickup will help to ensure that we provide you with the service you expect.

  • To help avoid any wait for the bus you should make every effort to stay away from the peak hours of  7 AM to 9 AM and 3 PM to to 5 PM during the week especially on schools days.

  • For first time riders we encourage you to fill out the rider profile form. If you need assistance with this form please call our ride line at 616-842-3220.

Simply Call 842-3200 and We’ll Get You To Where You Need To Go 

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday – Friday:
    6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Last call taken at 5:30 p.m.)
  • Saturday:
    9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  (Last call taken at 3:30 p.m.)
  • Sunday:
    8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (only with advanced reservation)

Bus Fares For Regular Service:

  • 60 years and older 75¢
  • 19 – 59 years old $1.50
  • 18 years and under 75¢
  • 4 years and under FREE w/ paying adult (limit 2)
  • Disabled 75¢
  • Persons with Medicare card 75¢
Harbor Transit’s demand response bus service operates all year with the exception of the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • 4th of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
